Gut health starts with your nervous system.
If you've tried diets, supplements and protocols, and your body still isn't settling, the missing piece isn't more restriction. It's regulation.
We've been looking at gut health through one lens.
Your gut, brain and nervous system are deeply connected.
Changing your diet isn't the answer.
Nutritional support alone isn't enough.
How your gut functions and how your body responds are shaped by your experiences, your environment and patterns you've learned and adapted to over time.
So let's change the conversation.
Does This Sound Like You?
- Your symptoms feel unpredictable. Something that's fine one day leaves you bloated, cramping or uncomfortable the next.
- You've tried dieting, removing gluten, adding probiotics, or you’ve been told to just relax more, but nothing creates lasting change.
- Your safe food list keeps getting shorter. Removing certain foods may help for a while, but pretty soon you're back where you started, with less to eat, more to worry about, and looking for yet another thing to cut out.
- You've had the tests, even examinations, and been told everything looks "normal." But nobody's looked at your stress, sleep, hormones or what the last few years have actually been like for you.
- Somewhere along the way, you stopped trusting your own body.
If that's you, you're in the right place.
Where nutrition meets deeper mind-body work.

Hi, I'm Amanda. I'm an Australian, London-based BANT-registered nutritional therapist and somatic counsellor and I specialise in IBS and gut health.
I've spent over eight years working with people whose gut symptoms haven't responded to the usual approaches.
Alongside my training in nutrition and gut health, I've completed more than 400 hours of training in Dr Gabor Maté's Compassionate Inquiry approach.
This shapes how I listen, the questions I ask and the highly personalised, whole-body approach I take.
The Deeper Work
My work brings together gut health and nutritional therapy with nervous system work, somatics and a trauma-informed approach to address the deeper patterns impacting your gut health.
My training in the Compassionate Inquiry approach has profoundly influenced how I understand the patterns of protection and adaptation we develop over time.
By first addressing what's keeping your body reacting and then building more capacity and stability, nutritional support can be applied in a way that works with your body and creates long term lasting change.
I think about the process as five interconnected stages that we move through at the pace your body needs.
01Listen
We begin with understanding your story, your history and what else has been happening alongside your symptoms. With Compassionate Inquiry, the conversation goes beyond the usual intake-form questions.
02Stabilise
Before we make any significant changes, we build more capacity in your nervous system and body, so you're able to respond to adjustments without becoming overwhelmed or more reactive.
03Explore
We look at stress, sleep, hormones, patterns and behaviours and daily life alongside your gut and nutrition. This allows us to better understand where we need to focus.
04Expand
As things begin to settle, we gradually widen what your body responds well to, slowly introducing both foods and daily life activities you've learned to avoid.
05Integrate
We make what you've learned sustainable, so you're not dependent on a plan forever. The goal is to understand and trust your body more, not to be stuck permanently managing it.
What My Clients Say

Amanda's guidance has been both practical and deeply supportive. I've seen genuine improvements in my energy, digestion and overall wellbeing, and for the first time nutrition feels simple, sustainable and actually enjoyable.

This work takes curiosity, patience and a willingness to look beyond symptoms. If that's the kind of approach you're ready for, let's start the conversation.
Is This the Right Fit?
Managing your gut health requires more than diet alone, and this isn't about following a diet or supplement protocol.
Adding more rules when your nervous system is in a state of overwhelm creates more stress in a body that's already been pushed too far. This is why you can be making all the right choices with food and still have unpredictable symptoms.
Your gut is wired directly to your nervous system. The way your system responds today is shaped by stress and daily demands, but also by patterns established much earlier. We first need to understand those patterns and build more capacity and stability from there.
How your body responds when you eat matters just as much as what's on the plate.

This is for you if
- You've tried conventional approaches, but your body still doesn't feel at ease.
- Your symptoms flare or worsen when you're stressed, or overwhelmed.
- You suspect your nervous system is part of the picture.
- You want a process that goes deeper than diets, protocols or quick fixes.
This isn't for you if
- You're looking for a fixed, generic plan to follow or a list of foods to cut out straight away.
- You want to start with a one-off consultation or a process with light check ins and minimal support.
- Your symptoms haven't been checked by your GP or doctor yet. Start there first.

What working with me means in practice
- I'm not going to hand you a list of foods to cut out on day one.
- We take the time to understand the full picture, not just your symptoms in isolation.
- What we do evolves as we learn more about you, your patterns and how your body responds. I don't hand out generic protocols and call them personalised.
- Testing is used thoughtfully. We only use it when it can genuinely help us make a better decision.
- I won't promise you'll never have another flare-up. The aim is that you understand your body better, know what to do when things change, and build confidence in your body rather than becoming dependent on another plan. I'll tell you when something needs a GP or specialist, rather than trying to make nutritional therapy the answer to everything.
This work is deliberately paced. If you're looking for a quick fix, I'm probably not the right fit.

What if I've tried everything before?
Most people come to me after trying restrictive diets, supplements or generic approaches.
These can be helpful in relieving symptoms for a period, but they don't always address the underlying imbalance.
I take the time to understand your history, the patterns beneath your symptoms and how your body has learned to respond and adapt over time. This means the work is shaped around you rather than another protocol.
What if my tests have come back normal?
That's common. Standard tests are important for ruling things out, but they don't always explain why symptoms persist.
Once we start to understand everything in context, we can often see patterns and connections that haven't been explored before. As an advanced practitioner, I also have access to further testing, which we can explore when it meaningfully informs your care.
Is this psychotherapy?
No. Although Compassionate Inquiry is a psychotherapeutic approach, it simply shapes how I listen and the questions I ask. This isn't about digging into your past.
My training as a trauma-informed somatic counsellor means I'm better able to support what comes up as we work together, both psychologically and through what you experience in the body.
Some of these words may sound intimidating, but the work itself is about understanding what's present for you now, how you relate to it and how that may connect to earlier experiences.
Does nervous system work just mean breathing exercises and meditation?
No. Those things can be useful, and tools for moment-to-moment regulation are helpful, but they're only a small part of the picture.
Simply trying to calm your body down is a way of managing stress. My work is about understanding the patterns that shape how your nervous system responds, including what's happening in your life now and what may have been established much earlier.
We work with these patterns, alongside your gut health and nutrition, to create longer-term shifts in how your body feels and functions.
